Aboout CHILDHOOD ROADS Institute:

Childhood Roads Institute was founded in 2009; It was registered early in 2010 with the aim of empowering the disadvantaged community of Orange Farm and its surroundings. Currently it is operating in 3 extensions of Orange Farm. The community was and it is still faced with various social challenges which emanate from poverty, unemployment, domestic violence, and various chronic illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, breast cancer and TB.

To address the above challenges the organisation have various projects that they are implementing and these are; a drop in centre for children, skills development, natural play, psycho-social support (Parental workshops, provision  of basics,  and the elderly project) and awareness campaigns.....Read More...

Project Context

Orange Farm is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s largest informal settlements. The township is located in Region G on the southern edge of the City of Johannesburg and it is 45 km away from Johannesburg’s central business district (CBD). Orange farm has a population 76767 who are residing in 21029 households.
